EVOLVOPTIC — QUALITY OVERVIEW
================================================

FOLDER STRUCTURE (this is all you need)
  quality-overview/
  ├── index.html
  ├── style.css
  ├── script.js
  └── assets/
      ├── evolvoptic-logo.png (logo, top right)
      ├── background.mp4 (landing intro video)
      ├── background-poster.jpg (first frame)
      └── 1.mp4 ... 6.mp4 (your six issue clips — add these)

The three code files sit together, and the "assets" folder sits NEXT TO them.
If you downloaded the ZIP, this structure is already built — just unzip and
open index.html. If you ever download files individually, create an "assets"
folder in the same place as index.html and put the images/videos inside it.

RUN IT
Double-click index.html. No server needed. Be online the first time so the
fonts + spreadsheet reader load; after that your data works offline.

TOP BAR
  · Nav links (desktop) / ☰ burger (mobile)
  · "Jump to…" dropdown — always-works navigation
  · ✎ Edit — click, then click any heading/text to rewrite it (saved locally)
  · Logo (top right) — change it on the Settings page

SETTINGS PAGE
  · Upload the Quality Metrics workbook -> refreshes KPIs + scrap chart
  · Upload the Issues & RCCA master list -> refreshes departments + RCCA
  · Upload a new logo
  · Reset wording / Reset all data

BROWSE PAGE
  · Page backgrounds: pick a page, upload an image/video for it
(landing defaults to the intro video; "Clear" = dark; "Use intro video")
  · Trending-Issue tiles: upload a photo/video + caption for each of the 6

PERMANENT vs SESSION
Small files are saved on this computer (localStorage). Very large videos
show for the session only — for a permanent one, drop the file into assets/
(background.mp4 for the intro; 1.mp4 … 6.mp4 for the tiles).

EDIT IN CODE (optional)
Starting numbers -> *_DEFAULT constants at the top of script.js
  Colors           -> style.css :root

------------------------------------------------
WHAT'S NEW
· Landing page is a circuit hub: the EvolvOptic logo video sits in the
middle (assets/logo-video.mp4) and traces branch out to each section.
· Departments page is now "Scrap per Department" — click any department
  for a monthly trend + current-month total in a pop-up.
· RCCA page: click the % ring for a monthly open-vs-closed pop-up + chart.
· Settings has a "Current reporting month" selector that drives what
  "current" means across the dashboard.
· Illustrations: in Edit mode (top bar ✎), hover any illustration to
Delete (✕) or Replace (⤒) it with your own image. Saved locally.

NEW ASSET FILES
  logo-video.mp4 / logo-video-poster.jpg — the landing-page hub video.

NOTE ON DEPARTMENT SCRAP
The workbook doesn't include scrap split by department, so each month's
total scrap is estimated across departments by their share of logged
issues. Replace with real numbers by editing DEPTS / METRICS in script.js.

------------------------------------------------
UPDATE (this version)
· Scrap page: pick a month from the dropdown OR click a bar; a Year-to-Date
  box shows all months combined.
· Departments: card text is now legible; titles fixed.
· RCCA: click the % ring -> pop-up with a MONTH dropdown that lists the
Customers + Issue IDs for that month, plus the open/closed chart.
· Settings: "Current reporting month" now has an "All (Year to Date)"
option, a "Refresh dashboard" button, "Document links" fields, and
  "Custom tiles" editors.
· Path Forward & Checks: red "Target" button opens a document; 2 extra
customizable tiles (set them in Settings).
· New Outro page (THANK YOU) with a blue document button.

DOCUMENT LINKS
Put PDFs in assets/docs/ and type the file name in Settings ->
Document links. The Target / link buttons open them in a new tab.

FLASH DRIVE / OFFLINE
Copy the whole quality-overview folder to a USB stick and open index.html.
The dashboard, charts, drill-downs, and your saved edits all work offline.
Only two things need a one-time internet connection: the web fonts
(it falls back to system fonts offline) and reading a brand-new uploaded
  spreadsheet on the Settings page.

------------------------------------------------
BACKGROUND VIDEOS — SIZE LIMIT EXPLAINED (v3.1)
The browser can only *remember* about 5 MB of uploaded data between
sessions (a browser rule — it cannot be removed). Videos are almost
always bigger, so an uploaded background only lasts the session.

THE PERMANENT WAY (no size limit):
 1. Drop your video in this assets folder (same folder as this file —
    no new folder needed), e.g. background2.mp4, background3.mp4
 2. Open Browse -> Page backgrounds
 3. Pick the page, type the file name (background2.mp4) in the new
"assets file" box, click "Use assets file (permanent)".
Only the tiny file PATH is saved, so it persists forever and works
from a flash drive. Tip: compress videos to ~5-15s, 1080p.

The six Trending-Issue tiles work the same way by naming files
1.mp4 ... 6.mp4 (or 1.jpg ...) in this folder.

------------------------------------------------
v4.0 — SEPTEMBER 2026 MEETING UPDATE
· New "RMA & Deviations" page (from RMA_Log.xlsx + Deviation_Master_List.xlsx).
· RCCA updated: 217 issues (114 closed / 102 open); monthly open/closed is now
  computed from real statuses.
· 16 issue photos loaded in assets/issues/1.jpg … 16.jpg (captions in app).
· Settings now has FOUR uploads (Quality Metrics, Issues/RCCA, RMA log,
Deviation list), each with its own Update button, plus "Update ALL".
Workflow: choose file(s) -> click Update (or Update ALL) -> every page redraws.

------------------------------------------------
v6.0
· From / To date range + Lock + Print/Export bar on every data page
(one range drives all pages). Print = one-sheet PDF of that page.
· Pop-up details on Overview cards, RMA/Deviation rows & cards, Action items.
· "# Numbers" (top bar, PIN-gated): click any big number and type a
correction — saved locally, pink underline marks edited values.
· Settings reorganized into 10 collapsible sections; section 9 = Work
Instructions (pages, upload formats, monthly routine).
· Issue photos: stale saved tiles are replaced by the 16 built-in photos
(Settings → 5 → "Reset issue photos" if ever needed).

------------------------------------------------
v6.1
· RCCA page numbers now follow the date range (all-time totals shown as a note).
· Home → "Master Print / Export": pick range + tabs, optional cover page
(assets/cover.png), one compact page per tab, "Page X of N" bottom-left.
· "# Numbers" works on Dashboard too and shows a banner explaining what to do.
· Settings has an Update ALL button top-right.

------------------------------------------------
v6.3 · Master print is now COLLATED: sections flow and fill each sheet
(3–4 tabs per page when they fit), long tables continue with repeated
headers, cover page stays separate, "Page X of N" stays exact.

------------------------------------------------
v6.7 · MOBILE NAVIGATION FIX
· Left menu now opens ABOVE the top bar (was trapped inside it / invisible),
slides in smoothly, and scrolls up/down when taller than the screen.
· Scrim fades in/out; tap it or swipe the drawer left to close; swipe from the
  screen's left edge to open.
· Top-bar control cluster (Print / # Numbers / Edit / jump / logo) is now
horizontally scrollable on mobile so nothing gets cut off.
· Verified every button + select has a working handler on desktop and mobile.

------------------------------------------------
v6.8 · MOBILE MENU — DRAWER NOW ACTUALLY VISIBLE
· Root cause: the drawer was a child of the top bar, whose backdrop-filter
traps position:fixed children and clipped the menu to the 64px bar (you saw
only the dim overlay). The drawer is now a top-level element, so nothing
clips it, and the top bar's blur is disabled on mobile as a safeguard.
· Menu slides in solid, full-height, scrolls, and closes via scrim/swipe/burger.

------------------------------------------------
v7.0 · DATA REFRESH + NUMBER-EDIT FIX
· Quality Metrics updated: Jan–Sep 2026 (metrics lag closed). Two new scrap
categories surfaced everywhere: Molding Flaws and Out of Squareness.
· RCCA: 223 issues (114 closed / 108 open); 74 action items for 2026.
· RMA log: 38 RMAs from the RMA Tracker (29 open) — Jun 7 · Jul 17 · Aug 13 · Sep 1.
· Departments rebuilt from MetricsData (QC, Cleaning/Blocking, Grinding, Edging,
CNC, Precision Saw, ID, Bandsaw, Centerless, Polishing, Machining Dept).
· FIXED: tapping a number under "# Numbers" opened a browser validation popup
and would not accept input. Number editing now opens a proper dialog with a
text field (works with mobile keyboards); Settings override fields no longer
use type=number, so no more "value is not correct" popups.

------------------------------------------------
v7.2 · SCAR REPORTS PAGE · PATH FORWARD UPDATES · 18 ISSUE TILES
· "Checks" tab renamed SCAR REPORTS: all 17 SCAR/NCR sheets (6 customers)
as a gallery with customer name under each, "By customer" collapsible
view, open/responded gauge, status filter, tap-to-read viewer with ‹ ›.
Old inspection checklist kept in a collapsed box at the bottom.
· Path Forward: "Shop-floor updates" boxes (shelf locations, incoming
material check, Deviation tag, Document-issue tag, RMA Rework & Repull
shelf) + photo strip. Photos not yet supplied show a placeholder.
· Trending Issues: 2 new ground-surface-scratch photos (tiles 17, 18).
· Settings → 6: editors for SCAR rows, Path-Forward boxes/colors, photo
slots; Browse: "+ Add another tile". Dashboard SCAR count now comes
from the SCAR Reports list (was inferred from text).
FOLDERS: assets/scars/ (SCAR sheets), assets/forward/ (path-forward photos),
         assets/issues/ (issue tiles 1..18)

------------------------------------------------
v7.3 · TAG COLOR GUIDE LOADED
· Deviation tag = RED, Document Issue tag = BLUE — boxes and wording on
Path Forward now match the posted "Color Coded Tag Guide" sheet.
· Guide image loaded in the Path Forward photo strip (assets/forward/tag-color-guide.jpg).
· Remaining photo placeholders: New shelf locations, RMA Rework & Repull shelf.

------------------------------------------------
v7.4 · EDITING REBUILT (tap-to-edit) · PATH FORWARD PHOTO BOXES
· ✎ Edit: tap any heading, label, box text or number → an editor box opens.
No more inline cursor editing (which failed on mobile). Works on every tab.
· "#" (was "# Numbers"): tap any number → number editor. Edit mode does this too.
· Path Forward: photos are attached to the boxes. Boxes with a photo show a
green "💡 Attachment — tap to view"; tapping opens the photo. Boxes still
waiting for a photo show "📎 photo pending". Add/replace/remove photos and
  boxes in Settings → 6.
· Still pending photos: New shelf locations, RMA Rework & Repull shelf.

------------------------------------------------
v7.5 · EDIT BUTTON + CACHE BUSTING
· Edit button verified by unit test: click -> "✓ Done" + green highlight +
banner; click again -> back to "✎ Edit". It now also reports any error
on screen instead of failing silently.
· style.css / script.js are loaded with ?v=7.5 and the page is marked
no-cache, so phones stop serving an old cached script after a redeploy.
IF THE BUTTON STILL LOOKS DEAD: you are on an old file — check the badge
  reads v7.5. Hard-refresh, or open index.html?v=new once.

------------------------------------------------
v7.6 · NUMBERS EDITABLE ON EVERY DATA TAB
Editable-number count per tab (verified):
  Dashboard 5 · Overview 6 · Scrap 3 · Departments 12 (each department + total)
  RCCA 4 · RMA & Deviations 4 · SCAR Reports 4
The "#" button is context-aware: the banner names exactly what is editable on
the tab you are on, and says so plainly if a tab has no figures (Action Items,
Path Forward — those are text, use ✎ Edit).
Path Forward top boxes + lead text are editable with ✎ Edit (tap the box).

------------------------------------------------
v7.7 · FULL-SIZE BUTTONS · RESTORE / BULLET BOXES
· FIXED: only a corner of the top-bar buttons was clickable. The scrollable
cluster used a mask-image fade and masked pixels swallow taps — removed.
✎ Edit, #, 🖨 Print now respond across their whole face (min 44px tall).
· Path Forward: "+ Add box" now offers to RESTORE any default box you deleted
(shown with its color swatch) or add a blank one.
· Box text supports BULLET POINTS: start lines with "- ". The editor field is
  now a multi-line textarea. Example:
     Common reasons:
     - Missing paperwork
     - Missing melt number

------------------------------------------------
v7.8 · TOP-BAR OVERLAP FIX (the real cause)
· On desktop the nav strip (.topnav) is a fixed bar that stretched under the
right-hand controls at a HIGHER stacking order, physically covering the
✎ Edit / # / Print buttons. Only the sliver past its right edge accepted
clicks — hence "clickable only at the corner / right edge".
· Fix: on desktop the nav strip now sits BELOW the control cluster and stops
before it (reserved width). The mobile slide-in drawer is untouched (z-70).
· Combined with v7.7 (mask removed), the three top-bar buttons are now fully
clickable across their whole face on desktop and mobile.

------------------------------------------------
v7.9 · UNDO BLUR ON TOP BAR · BACKGROUND VIDEO RESTORED
· FIXED (my regression in v7.8): raising the control cluster to z-index 60
lifted it ABOVE the top bar's backdrop-filter, so the whole menu rendered
blurred. Controls now sit above the nav strip WITHIN the bar's own layer
(z 3 vs 1) — no blur, and the buttons stay fully clickable.
· FIXED: the landing-page background video. Removed a rule that force-hid it
under "reduce motion", and playback is now hardened — muted/inline/loop
attributes are set every time, with a retry on first tap/scroll if the
  browser blocks autoplay.

------------------------------------------------
v8.0 · TOP BAR REBUILT PROPERLY (blur + click area)
Root cause of BOTH problems: the desktop nav strip was a position:fixed
overlay laid across the bar (a leftover from the mobile-drawer fix, which had
moved the <nav> outside the top bar). It covered the ✎ Edit / # / Print
buttons, and my successive z-index patches to escape it pushed the controls
above the bar's frosted backdrop-filter, which blurred the whole menu.
Fix: the <nav> is back INSIDE the top bar and lays out as a normal flex child
on desktop (no overlay, no z-index games, nothing to blur). On mobile it still
becomes the slide-in drawer (fixed, z-70) and the bar's blur stays disabled so
the drawer isn't clipped. All ad-hoc z-index patches removed.
